Stanford University Mentor Mother Outreach Program

Between 2014 and 2017, I served as the lead graphic illustrator for Stanford University-sponsored women's health outreach programs in numerous countries, including South Africa, Guatemala, and India.Under the supervision of Dr. Maya Adam, these projects primarily focused on mentorship for pregnant women in developing countries, with the overarching goal of ensuring that the target audiences could readily identify with the images and videos we created. I produced a diverse range of illustrations that were animated and utilized as visual aids. This project had a pivotal role in shaping my creative development and fueling my interest in design problem-solving.

Below are samples of some of the drawings that I created for the Mentor Mother Outreach Program. These images were created with specific cultures in mind in order to be relatable to our audience, including references to India, Guatemala and South Africa through clothing, food and cultural norms. We wanted to show a wide range of mothers for these videos so that our audience would feel included and supported on their journeys into motherhood and beyond.

Throughout my time working with Stanford University as a graphic illustrator, I not only worked on videos, but also graphics for textbooks and a community health application. Below are some of the graphics that I designed as icons for the application, meant to represent different concerns for a new mother, from reproductive health to dietary concerns to proper breastfeeding.
